Megastructure Arc 2.0.6

Arc 2.0.6 is a fixes release. Changing an agent’s model keeps its name and its limits, settings you save reach a working agent from its next turn, and replies between agents reach whoever asked, including after Retry. Agents working from a Full Access room can also change a room’s access.

Current release

Settings that stick, replies that arrive

Windows 10/11 (64-bit), or macOS 11+ on Apple Silicon. Bundled Local AI requires macOS 26+. Computer use requires macOS 14+.

Highlights

  • Changing an agent’s model keeps the agent. Its name, the name you gave it in the room, and its saved limits (output tokens per step, thinking, temperature, step limit and response deadline) carry over to the new model. An agent that was only ever named after its model takes the new model’s name.
  • Settings reach a working agent. Limits saved in Agent settings apply from the agent’s next turn, and a new name, role or instructions in the room apply while its session runs. Changing its folder or access, or removing it, no longer asks you to stop an idle agent first; an agent in the middle of a turn, or still waiting on its own job, asks you to wait, in plain words.
  • Agents can change a room’s access. The Safe / Full Access control is now visible to agents driving Arc from a Full Access room, so they can change any room’s access. License, Security settings and API key fields stay hidden from agents.

Fixes and refinements

  • Replies between agents reach whoever asked. A second message sent while an agent is still answering the first now gets its own answer, and Retry on an agent’s reply to another agent sends the new reply to that agent.
  • Retry, Retry with edited prompt and Edit reply update the conversation straight away, and a replaced reply stays hidden everywhere, including the People tab’s activity feed and agents’ reports.
  • Retry with edited prompt starts from the message that was sent to the agent, not Arc’s internal wake prompt.
  • A reply from a session that has ended says so, instead of saying the agent is busy.
  • Agents see a side panel they have just opened, and Connect your agent notices an agent that joins and posts without polling.
