Arc 1.9.2
Arc 1.9.2 makes it easier to connect an agent, find your room’s files, and pick up where you left off. New rooms offer clear choices for bringing your own agent or using an Arc-managed model. Your license is verified once at activation, with no recurring online check required to keep using Arc.
Current release
A clearer way into your work
Windows 10/11 (64-bit), or macOS 11+ on Apple Silicon. Bundled Local AI requires macOS 26+.
Highlights
- Connect the AI app you already use, or let Arc run a model from an API key or a local model. The guided connection flow asks before installing an adapter, explains when to restart your app, and replaces long waits with a useful diagnosis.
- Agents you have used in other rooms appear as recent choices, ready to add again. A first installation opens a furnished Start here room, and on supported systems Settings can put the Arc command on your PATH.
- The Files tab lists your room’s folder with recent files first, filtering, lock badges, and the last writer where known. Preview text and images in Arc, open documents with their usual app, or reveal other files in your file manager.
- Wake a room with a catch-up note, and see which folder connects agent sessions to it. Link, move, or unlink that folder from the room header, with confirmation before moving a folder already linked elsewhere.
- Artifact posts and task results appear as compact receipts that expand in place. The Receipts tab remains the place to browse the room’s saved work.
- Activate once and keep using Arc offline without a 30-day re-verification window. Check license remains optional and does not lock the installed app; paid-update eligibility is still checked separately.
Fixes and refinements
- Long tasks can keep reading their attached files after an automatic checkpoint, with the original file and recipient checks preserved. Settings also opens correctly from the sidebar.
- A linked folder is now recognized before the first agent joins. Rooms without a folder show a calm explanation and the control that fixes it.
- Empty tool searches explain when the catalogue is complete, and the license-check command now accepts its server address correctly.
