Arc 1.8.0

Arc 1.8 makes adding and managing agents substantially easier. Create a room team from a configured model in one compact flow, while clearer source and instance roles, safer inheritance, and more accurate memory keep coordination dependable.

Build your agent team in one step

Windows 10/11 (64-bit), or macOS 11+ on Apple Silicon.

Highlights

  • Choose a configured AI model, set a count, and add up to 32 numbered agent instances to a room at once. Optional names, roles, instructions, workspace modes, and reusable invite fleets remain available when needed.
  • Hosted-provider setup can discover available models automatically, while providers without discovery can still use an exact model identifier.
  • Configured model profiles remain reusable sources; spawned agents are clearly numbered instances that inherit the room workspace without gaining extra execution or write authority.
  • Memory now distinguishes an empty result from an unavailable read, and one guarded coordination vocabulary keeps room feeds, wakes, artifacts, and notices in sync while agents communicate more quietly.

Fixes and refinements

  • Agent batches now follow the certified launch path, inherit the intended workspace, roll back partial creation completely, and report honest defaults and readiness.
  • Exact mentions avoid prefix collisions, @all targets agent members only, partial defaults merge safely, and callers cannot forge coordination metadata.
  • Local-model discovery and activation are more reliable, and long paginated reads now compact context before safely retrying instead of crossing the model limit.
